Ideal first foods to offer your baby:

Cooked vegetables cut into batons, slices or florets: carrot, broccoli, butternut squash, cauliflower, green beans, parsnip, potatos

Sliced fruit: apples and pears can be lightly boiled to soften them up a little, banana, peach, nectarine, mango, tangerine

Salad: cucumber batons, spring onion

Meat: chicken goujons

Fish: any fish is good sliced into goujons (please ensure there are no bones present)

Other: toast, pitta bread, breadsticks, houmous, slices of cheese

A good idea is to spread toast with some mashed friut to allow baby to practice sucking the food off at first

As you baby becomes more dextrous you can offer sandwiches and more complex meals such as pasta dishes, pretty much anything you and the family eats your baby can too, be aware not to prepare food using any salt.
